What Is CGPA?

CGPA vs SGPA

SGPA (Semester GPA) measures one term. CGPA averages every semester, weighted by credits. Your CGPA is what appears on your final transcript.

How CGPA is calculated

Multiply each subject’s grade point (O = 10, A+ = 9, …) by its credits, sum across all semesters, and divide by total credits. The CGPA calculator does this automatically and charts your trend.

Converting CGPA

To convert CGPA to a percentage, the common CBSE formula is Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. See the India conversion page for university-specific formulas and CGPA → GPA.
