What trips UF students up
- There is no A+ at UF. The highest grade is a flat A worth 4.00, so a perfect transcript tops out at exactly 4.00.
- UF writes grade points to two decimals (A- is 3.67, not 3.70). Calculators that round to one decimal drift upward across a full transcript.
- D- at 0.67 is the lowest passing mark, but degree-granting colleges can require a higher minimum in specific courses — check your college, not just the university scale.

Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated at University of Florida?
UF multiplies each course's grade points by its credit hours, adds those up, and divides by total credit hours. What differs from the generic 4.0 scale is the point values themselves — UF uses A = 4.00, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.00, and so on.
Does UF give A+ grades?
No. UF's highest grade is a flat A worth 4.00, so a perfect transcript comes to exactly 4.
Is this the official UF GPA?
This calculator uses UF's published grade-point values, but your official GPA is whatever the registrar records. Repeated courses, transfer credit, pass/fail marks and withdrawals are handled by school-specific policy and are not modelled here — always confirm against your transcript.
